CIPD Certificate in L&D Practice

Around 140 hours of study spread over one year, delivered via blended learning (chat sessions online and face to face workshops). Additional time is required for assignments, projects etc. Study materials will be accessed online using the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Workshops will be held approximately every 3 weeks – Tuesday or Wednesday evenings 6 – 9pm and one twilight session.
Each unit is separately assessed using a variety of assessment methods. These include practical skills assessments, short presentations, written reports and briefing notes.
You will need to pass all 7 units to achieve the Certificate qualification.
The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Certificate in Learning and Development Practice provides a firm foundation in all the areas of Learning and Development. This programme will provide the necessary knowledge and expertise to enable you to understand, identify, deliver and evaluate training and other learning and development interventions. It will also expand your understanding of relevant organisational and human resource issues and help you develop the practical skills, confidence and behaviours to be an effective Learning and Development practitioner.
This programme is intended for those involved in learning and development in organisations or working as independent trainers. This includes training administrators and training managers.
On completion you will be able to:
describe the complete training cycle from the analysis of training needs through to the evaluation of training interventions
identify training needs at an organisational, group and individual level that support corporate strategy
design training that takes account of effective learning processes, learner and trainer styles and appropriate supporting technology and resources
choose, construct, implement and analyse evaluation and assessment measures
On successful completion of the programme, candidates receive the CIPD Certificate in Learning and Development Practice. The Certificate is at an equivalent level to SCQF 6.

• Developing Yourself as an Effective Human Resources or Learning and Development Practitioner(3BEP)
• Designing Learning and Development Actvities(3DEP)
• Undertaking a Learning Needs Analysis(3LDN)
• Delivering Learning and Development Activities(3DEL)
• Evaluating Learning and Development Activities(3ELD)
